FEATURE STORY (Dec. 14, 2010): Transfers Samms And VanBrocklin Making Hugh Impacts For Vikings

2010-11 (AS A JUNIOR)
Had a major impact in the paint for the Vikings in her first season, shooting 61.3 percent from the floor, the second best single season mark in Portland State history ... played in 26 games, starting 19 ... averaged 15.8 minutes per game ... missed six games during January due to a knee injury ... third on the team in rebounding (4.0 rpg) and fourth in scoring (6.6 ppg) ... led the Vikings in blocked shots per game, averaging 1.1 per contest to rank fifth in the Big Sky ... tallied 28 blocks on the season, the second most on the team and the eighth highest total in the conference ... her 61.3 percent field goal shooting mark would have easily led the conference, but she didn't have enough attempts to qualify ... ranked 11th in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (1.9) ... averaged 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 14.2 minutes per game in Big Sky action ... had a team-high 14 blocked shots in conference action despite only playing in 11 of 16 games ... started the first 12 games of the year before getting hurt ... also started seven of the last eight games ... tallied seven double-digit scoring performances and two double-doubles ... led PSU in scoring twice, in rebounds five times, in steals three times and in blocked shots 12 times ... had six points, seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal in her Portland State debut at Washington (11/14) ... helped PSU to a 69-66 overtime win at UC Santa Barbara (11/18), scoring a team-high 14 points on 5 of 5 shooting, while also grabbing seven rebounds ... went 7 of 7 from the floor to score 16 points against Tulane at the Colliers International Classic in Berkeley, Calif., on Nov. 27 ... scored 11 points vs. Hawai`i (12/2) ... tallied 17 points, nine rebounds and a season-high five blocked shots at UC Irvine (12/4) ... shot 8 of 11 from the field in the game ... tallied three blocks and six rebounds against Loyola Marymount (12/11) ... made her return from a knee injury on Jan. 27 against Eastern Washington ... had nine points and six rebounds in only 10 minutes of action vs. Sacramento State (2/3) ... registered her first double-double with 12 points and 10 blocks against Northern Colorado two days later ... shot 5-for-7 and also had four blocks in the contest ... recorded her second double-double in PSU's next game with 12 points and 12 boards at Idaho State (2/10) ... shot 8 of 10 from the field and scored a season-high 19 points to go along with two blocked shots vs. Weber State (2/17) ... returned to the starting lineup on Feb. 19, playing 17 minutes vs. Northern Arizona ... made all three of her field goals and finished with seven points as PSU clinched the Big Sky regular season title on March 5 with a 64-62 win at home over Montana State ... started and played 14 minutes against Wyoming in the WNIT on March 16, scoring six points and blocking one shot.

2009-10 (AS A SOPHOMORE AT COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN IDAHO)
Earned second team All-Region 18 honors ... Averaged 14.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.1 steals ... Shot 58.2 percent from the floor ... Started in 25 of 30 games and averaged 26.1 minutes ... Led the team in scoring and field goal percentage, while ranking second in rebounding ... Scored in doubled figures in 27 of the 30 games she saw action in ... Scored 20 or more points in five games, including a season-high 25 at Sheridan College (11/7) and vs. Colorado Northwestern (2/25) ... Had six double-digit rebounding performances ... Pulled down 16 rebounds against Midland College (11/13) and Howard College (12/30) ... Had a season-high eight blocked shots vs. Madison Area Technical College (12/29) ... Named the Region 18 Player of the Year and a second team NJCAA All-American ... Averaged 15.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 blocks and 1.1 steals ... Shot 58.2 percent from the floor ... Led the SWAC in blocked shots while also ranking second in scoring, third in field goal percentage and fourth in rebounding ... Started 28 of 30 games and averaged 28.9 minutes ... Scored in double figures in 26 contests ... Had 13 double-digit rebounding performances, including pulling down a career-best 18 vs. Ohlone Community College (11/14) ... Scored at least 20 points in seven games, including a career-high 27 at Salt Lake Community College (2/21) ... Twice blocked eight shots, doing so against Columbia Basin CC (12/6) and the College of Eastern Utah (2/6) ... Also had games of seven and six blocked shots ... Led the Golden Eagles to a 26-5 record and a final national ranking of 11th ... Helped CSI win the SWAC title with a 14-1 mark.
