BEFORE PORTLAND STATE
Played his freshman season at Modesto Junior College... completed 129-255 passes for 1,960 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions... also rushed 125 times for 810 yards and 10 TDs... had three 100-yard rushing games... named All-Big 8 Conference first team and team MVP... was Gridiron Classic MVP after rushing for 196 yards and two touchdowns while throwing for 191 yards and one score.

Lettered in football and basketball at Turlock High School... was a two-time Central California Conference Most Valuable Player - one as a running back and one as a quarterback... a three-time All-Conference selection.
