A great defender guarded the toughest opponent each night... suffered a broken foot early in the 2008-09 season and wasn’t able to come back to compete... had surgery on the foot in December 2009... came back to play all 62 games the past two seasons… originally signed with Valparaiso where he redshirted for one season, then transferred to play at Tallahassee Community College in 2007-08... was recruited by Portland State at Grace Christian High School, then again at Tallahassee.
2010-11 • SENIOR SEASON
For the second season in a row played in every game (30) while starting five… averaged 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and had 28 steals in 16.9 minutes per game… shot .368 from the field, .350 from three-point range and .648 at the line… had three double-figure scoring games… led the team in rebounding three times… scored 10 points in the season-opening win over Pepperdine (11/12)… grabbed a career-high eight rebounds at SMU (11/19)… had six points and four steals in the win over Utah Valley (12/23)… scored 10 points with seven rebounds at Eastern Washington (1/27)…
2009-10 • JUNIOR SEASON
Started 29 of 32 games and has served as his team’s defensive stopper... averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game... shot .364 from the field and .740 at the line... had four double-figure scoring games... scored a career-high 12 points (4-5 FG, 3-3 3-pt FG 1-2 FT) with four rebounds in the upset win over 25th-ranked Portland (12/2), shutting down Pilot star Nik Raivio in the process (no field goals in the second half)... had 11 points, five rebounds and two blocks in a win over Northern Colorado (1/15)... scored 11 points with a career-high seven rebounds in a win at Sacramento State (2/5)...
Postseason: Scored seven points with three rebounds and two steals in the quarterfinal win over Montana State (3/6)... had two points and one rebound in 23 minutes of the semifinal loss to Weber State (3/9).
2008-09 • SOPHOMORE SEASON
Played in just two games as he suffered a broken foot against the University of Portland... played a total of 25 minutes, scoring nine points with five rebounds and two steals... had surgery on his foot in December... returned to practice in February, but did not play.
PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Started 20 of 27 games at Tallahassee Community College in 2007-08... averaged 8.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and shot .397 from three-point range for the 17-10 Eagles.
Competed for Great Britain in the 2006 U20 European Championships. He averaged a team-leading 15.0 points per game... was selected to try out last summer for the fledgling British basketball squad that will attempt to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
Attended Grace Christian High School where he was a three-time All-State selection... led the Crusaders to state championships in 2005 and 2006... Grace was 84-19 in his three seasons... as a senior, Guede averaged 22.0 points, 11.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game... also a star soccer player, Guede was named a three-time All State selection in that sport... signed with Valparaiso, but redshirted during the 2006-07 season.
