Small, but effective runner... very elusive in the backfield, always seems to get something out of his run, as evidenced by only five rushing yards lost in all of 2014... will be a key component of the offense in 2015... overcame a health scare in spring 2013, requiring brain surgery to remove a lesion... was able to return to practice in the fall... that came after an achilles injury prevented his career from starting in 2012.

FRESHMAN SEASON • 2014
Became a force in the Viking offense as the season progressed... did not play in the opener at Oregon State, but competed in the next 11, including three starts late in the season... was second on the team in rushing with 88 carries for 605 yards and two touchdowns... averaged 6.9 yards per carry... shared the rushing load with Shaq Richard, Nate Tago and the Viking quarterbacks... led the team in rushing three times... also caught 11 passes for 82 yards and returned 12 kickoffs for 308 yards... his 995 all-purpose yards led the team... breakout game was a 16-carry, 253-yard rushing effort against Northern Arizona (10/18)... had runs of 61, 62 and 66 yards in the game... also had 44 receiving yards for a total of 297 yards of offense... his 253-yard game ranks ninth all-time in PSU history... followed that up with a 21-carry, 118-yard performance in a win at Weber State (10/25)... had 253 total yards against Eastern Washington (11/21), rushing 10 times for 60 yards and returning six kicks for 193 yards... had a 91-yard return in the game... named honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference... selected by his teammates as PSU’s Outstanding Offensive Back... a key signing in 2012, he gray shirted due to an achilles injury... was a redshirt in 2013 as he was overcoming brain surgery.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered in football and track in high school at Lake Oswego and Sherwood High Schools... named the Oregon 6A Offensive Player of the Year after leading his school to the state championship as a senior… rushed for 322 yards and four touchdowns in the title game... first team All-Three Rivers League running back… completed the season with 2,205 yards and 37 touchdowns as his team went 14-0… featured in SI’s Faces in the Crowd on Oct. 10, 2011 following a 424-yard, seven-touchdown performance in a win over Skyline (WA) HS… rushed for 322 yards and four touchdowns in the state championship game win over Sheldon (47-14)… also named ESPN 6A Player of the Year for the state... played as a sophomore and junior at Sherwood (OR) High School, rushing for 2,530 yards and 33 TDs over those two seasons… won the Oregon 5A state title in 2010.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Son of Jeff and Angela Long... has two brothers, Luke and Sam, and one sister, Aly... majoring in Communications... hobbies include running, playing XBox and watching film... would like to work for Nike... his father, Jeff, played at Portland State from 1978-81.
