Talented and dynamic wing player, who can score and really defend...  should see a lot of action this season and compete to start... missed the majority of the 2012-13 season due to a calf injury... will petition for a redshirt season following the 2013-14 year.

COACH GEVING SAYS: “Marcus showed what he was capable of in the two games he was healthy (last season), against Loyola Marymount and Oregon State. He brings toughness to the table. He loves to defend and buys into defending. Our weakness in recent years has not been having a bigger wing to guard bigger wings. Marcus has the size and can do that. He can rebound at a high level too.”

2012-13 • JUNIOR SEASON
A preseason calf injury hindered his start, his progress, and eventually his season... played in only eight games before he was shut down for the year... averaged 11.5 minutes, scoring 3.5 points per game... showed his potential with a 16-point performance at Loyola Marymount (12/1), hitting 6-9 field goals and 4-7 three-pointers in 23 minutes... earned the start against Oregon State (12/12), scoring four points with six rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes... it was determined to shut him down in January when his calf never got fully healthy with the intent of applying for a redshirt season after 2013-14.

PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Played two seasons at Fresno City College... named the Northern California Player of the Year, the co-MVP of the Central Valley Conference and the CVC Defensive Player of the Year in 2011-12... led Fresno CC to a 33-3 record and the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship... averaged 12.9 points and 4.1 rebounds as a sophomore... shot .518 from the field, .452 from three-point range and .665 at the line.

Lettered in basketball four times and football twice at Bakersfield Christian High School.
