Granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA after missing most of two years with foot injuries... has all the tools: smarts, speed and toughness... broke his foot 2011 then was expected to compete for a starting role at safety in 2012 but once again a foot injury set him back and he had to redshirt... became a top player for the Vikings and should be a key in 2014.
JUNIOR SEASON • 2013
Started all 12 games at strong safety and had a standout season... ranked second on the team with 88 tackles... had 4.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups... his 11 breakups tie for the fourth-most in school history and were the most by a Viking in 12 years... had five games of 10 or more tackles... led the team in tackles twice... made 10 stops and a tackle for loss at California (9/7)... had 11 tackles and an interception in the win over Humboldt State... followed that with 11 tackles and two pass breakups in a win at UC Davis (9/21)... made 12 tackles, two for losses, forced a fumble and broke up a pass against 18th ranked Cal Poly (9/26)... made six tackles, a pass breakup and a sack in the win over North Dakota (10/26)... had four tackles, two pass breakups and an interception against third-ranked Eastern Washington... earned honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference... selected by his teammates as the Most Outstanding Defensive Back... a top scholar-athlete as well, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors... joined the team late in 2011... took a couple weeks to practice and learn the system... played in one game against Montana State (10/8/11) making four tackles... suffered a broken foot and missed the remainder of the season... then followed that with another injury season in 2012.
PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Competed in all 14 games at Nevada in 2010, starting four at safety... made 28 total tackles on the season, had one pass breakup and one forced fumble... had a career-high five stops against Utah State.
Played one season at Palomar Junior College.. earned All-Conference and All-Region honors in helping the team to the Southern California Championship... had 65 tackles, three sacks and one interception.
Attended Ramona High School where he was a three-year letterwinner in football... also lettered in track... first team All-League selection in football as a senior.
