NEW ORLEANS – It was lucky number eight for the Portland State cross country program Thursday, as the Viking men's and women's teams swept the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for the eighth straight season.
 
The Viking men and women have both earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors every year since 2018, as well as 11 of the past 12 years.
 
The men earned the honor with a 3.41 GPA Thursday, their fourth highest GPA ever when honored from the USTFCCCA. The women, meanwhile, earned the honor with a 3.51 GPA. Both teams were well clear of the 3.0 GPA in order to qualify for the award.
