Jared Gallatin has been named Portland State Football's new Special Teams Coordinator and Safeties Coach as announced by Head Coach Chris Fisk. Gallatin has worked for Fisk the last two seasons at Central Washington in the same role.
 
"Jared is a bright young mind and up-and-coming coach in the profession," Fisk said. "He has great energy with the kids and an elite Special Team's mind."
 
Gallatin coached previously at Fresno State as a defensive graduate assistant in 2023, working closely with the Bulldogs' defensive backs. He spent two seasons at the University of Mary, coaching the team's linebackers and serving as the recruiting coordinator for the Marauder Football program. Gallatin was the defensive backs coach in 2021.
 
Prior to joining the staff at the University of Mary, Gallatin worked as a defensive graduate assistant coaching linebackers at South Dakota State in 2020. Gallatin spent the summer of 2020 working with the defensive backs at the University of Mary as a graduate assistant and cornerbacks coach.
 
For the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Gallatin coached at Northern State University as a defensive graduate assistant and assistant defensive backs coach.
 
A native of Polson, MT, Gallatin entered coaching after a playing career at Rocky Mountain College. He played defensive back for the Battlin' Bears and was named a team captain as well as a leadership council member.
 
Gallatin graduated from Rocky Mountain in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and Exercise Science and a Master's of Science Education in Sport Leadership from Northern State University in 2019.
