Portland State's first football scrimmage of fall camp takes place on Friday morning at Stott Community Field.
Everything is up for grabs as players vie for starting spots or simply to move up the depth chart. The most interesting position battles of fall camp so far are at quarterback, linebacker and safety, although vacancies on both lines are also available to be filled.
The first play of the scrimmage should be run by 9:55 a.m. and it is expected to last a little more than an hour with special teams inserted midway through. Coach
Bruce Barnum said he is likely to run a lot of plays as he needs to see all five quarterbacks in extended action.

A second scrimmage will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9. The Vikings open on Aug. 23 at home against sixth-ranked Tarleton State. The game kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium.
