Miller's Career-High 31 Leads Vikings To Easy Win Over Bruins

Portland, OR – As bounce back wins go, this one was a doozy. The Portland State Vikings, who saw their home-court winning streak wiped away last week against Omaha, took it out on George Fox with a 94-50 victory on Saturday afternoon at Viking Pavilion.

The Vikings did just about everything right. PSU shot .528 from the field, forced 16 turnovers that it converted into 19 points, handed out a season-high 29 assists on 38 field goals, and won the rebound battle, 45-30.

All of that added up to an easy, and admittedly, expected victory over the NCAA Division III opponent. Portland State's record improved to 6-3 on the season, 4-1 at home.

Terri Miller Jr. had his way with the Bruins, scoring a career-high 31 points in 27 minutes. Miller made 14-20 shots from the field, adding nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. Sebastian Tidor came off the bench for 14 points, four rebounds and four assists. Jaylin Henderson added 13 points and eight assists.

It was as clean a game as Coach Jase Coburn might have hoped for in the first half. His team did not turn the ball over in the first 13 minutes of the contest, scored inside and out, and led 33-6.

By halftime it was a 50-20 lead for Portland State. The Vikings were shooting .500 from the field, had 15 assists on 20 field goals, a single turnover, forced 11 George Fox turnovers and a 20-13 rebounding edge.

The second half was more of the same and eventually all 15 available Vikings got into the game. PSU's lead grew to 52 at one point (85-33).

George Fox was led by nine points from Sydney Natche. Cory Schramm had a team-best seven rebounds. The Vikings held the Bruins to just 16-52 shooting from the field (.308).

So, that's one in a row at home as the non-conference home schedule concludes for the Vikings. PSU has nine Big Sky Conference home games upcoming after the first of the year. The Vikings still maintain a 12-game home winning streak over Big Sky opponents.
