Portland State SAAC to Collect Toiletries for Sunnyside Shower Project at Friday's Women's Basketball Game

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will collect toiletries for the Sunnyside Shower Project at the Portland State women's basketball game against San Jose State this Friday.

Items that can be donated include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, oral hygiene items, hand soap, lotion, washcloths, disposable razors, deodorant, new socks and new underwear.

Fans who donate any of those items will receive discounts on tickets for future women's basketball games. The more items brought in, the better the deal.
  • 5 items donated = Group Discount Rate
  • 10 items donated = 50% off
  • 15 items donated = Free GA Tickets
  • 20 items donated = Free Courtside Seats (while supplies last)

The Sunnyside Shower Project was established in January 2021 to provide a safe and reliable place for unhoused people in the Sunnyside neighborhood to shower and maintain their hygiene. Since then, the Shower Project has grown to provide toiletry items, laundry cards, clean clothes, food, COVID vaccines and other support in addition to showers.

Friday's game will tip off at 5 p.m., with doors open to the public at 4 p.m. Tickets for Friday's game can be purchased via the Portland State University Box Office. Bins for donated items will be just inside the main entrance to Viking Pavilion.
