PORTLAND, Ore. — Jamia Carter, a 5-7 combo guard, has signed with the Portland State women's basketball team Saturday, giving the Vikings their third additions to the 2024-25 roster so far this spring, and fourth overall.
Â
Carter, who spent the 2023-24 season at Seward County Community College after playing at Salt Lake Community College during the 2022-23 season, joins fellow spring signees Katelyn Best and Taylor Moffat. Kyleigh Brown, who signed with the Vikings in the fall, rounds out the team's incoming class.
Â
Carter prepped at Shadow Ridge High School in Las Vegas, Nev., where she became the school's all-time leading scorer. Additionally, Carter was named Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team all-conference selection during her senior season, after earning second-team honors as a junior.
Â
"Jamia has the ability to score at all three levels. She's willing to do whatever it takes to make the team successful," Gregg said of Carter. "We're excited to welcome her into the Viking family."
Â
Carter's addition gives the Vikings 12 current players for the 2024-25 season.
