SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Portland State women's tennis team took the doubles point to open its match against Sacramento State Sunday, but the Hornets came back to sweep all six singles matches and win, 6-1.
 
The Vikings (0-16, 0-11 Big Sky) took the doubles point with 6-2 wins over the Hornets (11-12, 9-2 Big
Sky) at lines one and two. Siena Peri and Taylor Rees won at line one for the Vikings, beating the Hornets' Carolina Chernyetsky and Jenna Dorian. Eszter Zador and Alli Valk, meanwhile, won the match at line two, beating the Hornets' Maria Gonzalez and Shamika Dhar.
 
Peri's win with Rees at line one gives her a record-tying 17th Big Sky doubles win in her career. Peri tied a pair of former teammates for the record, as she equaled Dané Vorster (2014-16) and Sabina-Elena Preda (2014-17).
 
The Hornets swept the Vikings in singles, however, winning all six matches in straight sets.
