Courtney West posted a career-high 25 points and a double-double in the Vikings' 81-72 win over the Sacramento State Hornets Saturday afternoon in Sacramento, Calif. The win gives Portland State the season sweep of the Hornets for the first time since the 2010-11 season.

West scored a career-high 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting (.611), while pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds for her second-straight double-double. She also tallied all five of Portland State's blocks in the game, which moves her into a tie for the conference lead with 50. Over the past two games, she is averaging 21.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 5.0 blocks per game.

Portland State (11-8 overall, 5-3 Big Sky Conference) trailed for nearly 32 minutes of the game and by as much as 11 points midway through the third quarter. The Vikings fought back and took the lead after a 13-0 run but trailed by four heading to the fourth quarter.

The Vikings tied the game at 65-65 on a layup by SO F
Tatiana Streun. After a Hornets Jumper, Streun again tied the game with another layup. The Vikings and Hornets traded three-pointers before Sacramento State took a 72-70 lead on a layup with 3:39 remaining in regulation.

Portland State turned up the defensive pressure and held Sacramento State scoreless for the remainder of the game as Portland State closed out the win with an 11-0 run. The Hornets missed each of their last 10 shots as the Vikings scored nine of their final 11 points at the free-throw line, going 9-for-10 at the line down the stretch.

It was the second-straight game in which the Vikings ended a game on a double-digit scoring run. They went on a 15-0 run to close out their 77-64 win over Weber State last Saturday.

Portland State shot 52.6 percent from the floor and tallied 24 assists on 30 field goals.
Ashley Bolston and
Kylie Jimenez each tallied six assists in the game. The Vikings went 7-for-18 from three-point range and 14-for-20 at the free-throw line. They held Sacramento State to 37.5 percent from the floor. The Hornets hit 12 of their 31 three-point attempts.

Sidney Rielly scored 17 points for Portland State, going 7-for-13 from the floor.
Kiana Brown came off the bench for her fifth-straight double-digit scoring game after posting 15 points against the Hornets, going 4-for-6 from the floor with a trio of three-pointers. She also went 4-for-4 at the charity stripe.

Sacramento State had two players post 20-point games. Hannah Friend scored a game-high 28 points, while Maranne Johnson added 20 points. They combined to go 10-for-23 from three-point range.

Portland State concludes its three-game road trip next win at Idaho and Eastern Washington. The Eagles fell at Northern Colorado Saturday, while Idaho won at North Dakota. All three teams are within a game of each other in the conference standings.
