Pati Anae posted her eighth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 12 digs but the Vikings fell in straight sets to the Northern Colorado Bears Thursday night in Greeley, Colo.

Northern Colorado (10-7 overall, 4-1 Big Sky Conference) took the match by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16.

Anae led the Vikings (10-7, 2-3) with a match-high 12 kills. She hit .214 for the match, while posting a team-high 12 digs. After posting just five kills over the first two sets, Anae tallied seven kills, and five digs, in the final frame. Sophomore MB
Mikaelyn Sych added seven kills in the match.

Northern Colorado led wire-to-wire in the opening set, taking it 25-18. The Bears out-hit the Vikings .394-to-.211 in the opening frame. Anae tallied four kills in the set while sophomores Jenna Wilson and
Katy Wilson each added three.

The Vikings briefly led early in the second set before a run by the Bears put them up 11-6. The Vikings cut the lead to 11-10 but another run by Northern Colorado put the Bears up 20-14. They would go on to take the set 25-17.

Portland State was within two points at 18-16 before Northern Colorado went on a 7-0 run to close out the match as the Bears took a 25-16 win in the third set.

Northern Colorado hit .421 in the match, while holding Portland State to a .224 hitting mark in the match.

Portland State will now head to North Dakota for a Saturday, Oct. 8 match with the North Dakota Fight Hawks at 5 p.m. PT. North Dakota defeated Sacramento State in five sets Thursday night.
