FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – After taking the first set against Northern Arizona Saturday night in Flagstaff, Ariz., the Vikings dropped the final three sets of the match to fall, 3-1, in four sets in their season finale.

Katy Wilson had a big night in the middle for the Vikings, racking up a career-high 13 kills in the process. She hit. 333 on the night going 13-for-24 in attacks with five errors. Her 24 attacks on the night was also a career high.

Jenna Mullen led the Vikings with 14 kills coming off the bench. Libero
Tasha Bojanic racked up a team-high 17 digs in the match while outside hitters
Eva Linden and
Pati Anae added 16 and 12 digs respectively.

The Vikings went up by as much as four points, 14-10, midway through the opening frame. The Lumberjacks stormed back and took the lead at 19-17 before back-to-back points by the Vikings tied the set at 19-19. The teams traded points to 22-22 before three-straight PSU kills by Wilson, setter
Kylie Copple, and Mullen gave the Vikings the 25-22 win in the first.

Portland State again held the lead, 9-6, early in the second set. Four-straight points by Northern Arizona gave it the lead at 11-9. The 'Jacks continued their hot hitting and extended their lead to 16-12 after a 10-2 run. The Vikings got back into it late, but Northern Arizona evened the match with a 25-20 win in the second.

The Vikings got caught in a couple bad rotations as the Lumberjacks put several runs together to take the third 25-13. Northern Arizona took a 5-1 lead early in the fourth set. The Lumberjacks put together another run late in the set to close out the match with a 25-15 win in the fourth.

NAU's Janae Vander Ploug recorded a match-high 16 kills. She also added 13 digs for a double-double.

Northern Arizona improved to 25-4 overall on the season and 15-1 in Big Sky Conference play with the win, while Portland State fell to 9-19 and 5-11 with the loss.
