MOSCOW, Idaho – Portland State dropped its second straight five-setter Thursday night when the Viking fell to the Vandals in five in Moscow, Idaho.

The Vikings took the first set 25-23 before dropping a close second set, 26-24. Portland State went up 2-1 in the match with a 26-24 win in the third but Idaho tied it at two sets apiece with a 25-17 win in the fourth. The Vikings could not get going in the fifth and fell 15-10 to drop the match.

Pati Anae had a career night leading the Vikings with career highs in both kills with 19 and digs with 22. She also had a career-high 67 attacks in the match, the most by a Viking this season and the most since
Cheyne Corrado recorded 69 attacks at North Dakota last season.

Anae's 19 kills and 22 digs gave her a team-best eighth double-double of the season. She added five total blocks (2-3), also a career high.

Jenna Mullen recorded her first career double-double with 17 kills and a career-high 10 digs. She hit a team-high .256 in the match. Fellow freshman OH

The Vandals improved to 5-12 overall and 2-3 in Big Sky Conference play with the win while Portland State fell to 5-12 and 1-4.

The Vikings head to Cheney, Wash. for a Saturday showdown with Eastern Washington. The Eagles improved to 5-0 in conference play with a 3-1 win at home against Sacramento State Thursday night.
