BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Vikings got back on track Saturday night with a three-set sweep of the Montana State Bobcats by scores of 25-19, 25-23, and 25-21.

Senior outside hitter
Cheyne Corrado returned to form Saturday with her team-leading seventh double-double of the season. Corrado posted 12 kills while hitting .308 (12-4-26) and added 10 digs for the double-double.

Fellow senior outside hitter
Leigh-Ann Haataja added eight kills and five blocks in the match. Freshman middle blocker
Sarah Liva tallied five blocks, while adding seven kills. The Vikings out-blocked the Bobcats 9-to-6.

The Vikings (7-15 overall, 5-5 Big Sky Conference) led 4-1 early in the first set. The Bobcats (4-18, 1-9) came back and tied it at 6-6 before taking a brief lead at 7-6. The teams traded points to 8-8 before the Vikings went on a 4-0 run to go up 12-8. The Vikings maintained the four-point lead through much of the first set before they stretched their lead and took the set 25-19.

Montana State out-hit the Vikings in the first set but a trio of PSU aces and five kills from Corrado gave the Vikings the edge. Portland State out-hit Montana State .256-to-.240 for the match.
The Bobcats led through the first half of the second set before the Vikings tied it at 10-10. PSU scored four of the next five points to go up 14-11. MSU came back and tied the set at 19-19. The teams traded points to 20-20 before Portland State went on another 4-0 run to go up 24-20. Montana State staved off three set-points before the Corrado ended it with a kill to give the Vikings the 25-23 win.

After a brief tie at 2-2 in the third, the Vikings led the rest of the set going up by as much as seven points several times. The Bobcats went on a short run late, but a kill from Liva finished the sweep with a 25-21 win in the third.

Montana State's Kennadie Clute had a match-high 17 kills.

The Vikings return home next week for a pair of conference matches against Northern Colorado and Sacramento State.Â
