Crisofulli Takes Seventh In 800 Meters At Junior Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. ? Portland State's Tony Crisofulli came in seventh in the 800 over the weekend at the 2009 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Crisofulli, who just completed his freshman season at PSU, finished with a time of 1:53.62 in the finals on Sunday afternoon. Washington State's Joe Abbott took first in a time of 1:51.54.

In the prelims on Saturday, Crisofulli ran a PSU personal best 1:52.07 to finish seventh out of 23 runners. He finished ahead of runners from national powerhouse track programs Florida State and LSU.

A native of Vail, Colo., Crisofulli qualified for the Junior Nationals when he ran a 1:52.38 at the Oregon Twilight meet on May 10.
