About PSU Head Coach Sherri Murrell
In just three short seasons at the helm of the Portland State women's basketball program, Sherri Murrell has guided the Vikings to never before seen heights. In her first season, Murrell led the Viks to their first-ever 20-win season at the NCAA Division I level as they went 22-9. Then in 2008-09, Murrell and the Vikings went 23-10, finished second in the Big Sky Conference and advanced to the second round of the WNIT. It marked the first postseason appearance for PSU at the Division I level. Murrell and her squad topped that all this past season, winning their first Big Sky Championship and advancing to the NCAA Division I Tournament for the first time in school history.

In the past three years, Murrell's players have garnered accolades on a national level, ranging from one player leading all of Division I in assists per game to another earning first team Academic All-American honors. In the 2007-08 season, four players were selected to all-conference teams. In 2008-09, Murrell coached three players to all-conference honors, including having one being chosen as the Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year. In 2009-10, senior point guard Claire Faucher ranked fourth nationally in assists per game and was selected as a first team all-conference player for the third straight season.

In 15 seasons as a head coach – George Fox, Pacific (CA), Washington State and Portland State – Murrell has had an impact at each stop along the way. Her energy, enthusiasm and work ethic, coupled with her ability to relate to players, has been an effective formula for success.

Sherri Murrell's basketball camps will give players the necessary tools to be successful on the court. Each camp is specifically designed to help each player reach her full potential.
