PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State softball team will hold its annual holiday camp Jan. 2-3, 2010 at the Stott Center on PSU's campus.

There will be two sessions both days, with the Green Viks (grades 1-7) going from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., and the Black VIks (grades 8-12) going from 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

The clinic will focus on the following: defensive position development, specialized hitting and slapping drills, and individual fundamental skills (throwing, fielding, hitting and baserunning).

Cost for the Green Viks camp is $60 if you register by Dec. 14, and $70 after that date. The cost is $80 for the Black Viks if registered early, and $90 if the brochure is sent in after Dec. 14. Each camper will receive a Vikings Softball camp t-shirt.

Portland State head coach Tobin Echo-Hawk will lead the two-day clinic, and assistants Kellyn Tate and Kellie Wilkerson will also partake. Current and former Viking players will assist as well.

Echo-Hawk was an All-American at Nebraska and played in various professional leagues, while Tate was an All-American at Michigan and also played professionally. Wilkerson was a member of the U.S. National Team after earning All-America honors at Mississippi State.
