Portland State guard
Jeremiah Dominguez has been named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week following the Vikings' season-opening victory at Rice University.
Dominguez, the 2008 Big Sky Player of the Year, led PSU to a 78-74 win at Rice last Saturday. The senior from South Salem (OR) High School scored 24 points with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and no turnovers in 38 minutes of action. He hit a key three-point field goal with one minute remaining in the game. For the night, he made 7-12 field goals, 4-6 from three-point range and 6-9 at the line.
It marks the third time in his two-year career at Portland State that Dominguez has been named Big Sky Player of the Week.
The Vikings, now 1-0, host the University of Portland (1-0) at the Peter W. Stott Center tonight in a 7:05 p.m. game.
