PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Juston Wood threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to fullback Saleem Muhammad, lifting Portland State to a 23-20 overtime win over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.

North Carolina A&T had the ball first in overtime and drove near the goal line before stalling. Kicker Pat Simcox hit an 18-yard field goal.

Portland State's winning score came on a third-and-two play, when Muhammad was left wide open in the right flat.

The Aggies (1-2) jumped to an early 14-0 lead. Jason Battle scored on 1-yard sneak and Jason Douglas tossed a 19-yard scoring pass to Jamal Jones.

The Vikings (2-0) struggled to generate any offense, taking 24 minutes to notch their initial first down.

They finally broke through with a field goal. Then, toward the end of the first half, linebacker Tolo Tuitele intercepted a pass and returned it 49 yards for a score.

Viking tailback Ryan Fuqua heated up in the second and finished with 207 yards on 42 carries. His 1-yard-run with six minutes left made it 17-17.

The Vikings had a chance to win in regulation, but A&T's Dezmond Wright blocked Mike Cajal-Willis' 33-yard field-goal attempt as time expired.

The game sloppy throughout. The Aggies were hit with 14 penalties and fumbled seven times - though they recovered six of their miscues. The Vikings committed four turnovers and were flagged 13 times.
