Marion Pericin led the PSU basketball team from NAIA to NCAA University competition. His teams had a reputation for speed and a ‘Go-Go’ attitude which attracted Northwest hoop fans looking for high excitement. In Pericin’s five seasons, the Vikings hit the 100-point mark 28 times, becoming one of the highest scoring teams in the nation.

His 1970-71 team averaged 99.2 points per game. The 1966-67 team went to the NCAA College Division playoffs.

His teams went 19-8 in his final two seasons to bring his PSU career record to 101-85.
