Vikings Handle Wildcats With Ease, 85-52

Portland, OR - Portland State took care of business on Wednesday night as five players scored in double figures and the Vikings defeated Division III Linfield, 85-52, at the Stott Center.

The win was the tenth straight at home for PSU dating to last season. The Vikings are 3-0 at home this year, and have now evened their record at 4-4 as they prepare to go on a four-game road swing. The Vikings have also won three in a row overall.

Portland State took a double-digit lead little more than three minutes into the game. Linfield briefly closed it to five a 23-18 midway through the first half, but the Vikings rolled on from there. PSU outscored the Wildcats 24-8 over the last 10:19 of the first half to lead 47-26 at the break.

A 19-point run early in the second half got the Vikings to a 66-32 advantage. After that the lead grew as large as 36 on two occasions.

PSU scored 30 points off 21 Linfield turnovers and outrebounded the Wildcats, 47-35.
