Methods of Giving

Cash Gifts
Checks should be made out to the Viking Athletic Fund. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are also accepted. Electronic Fund Transfers may be established for automatic monthly deductions from credit card or checking accounts.

Matching Gifts
As a contributor to the Viking Athletic Fund, you can increase your level of giving by combining your gift with the matching funds of your employer. This is an excellent method of increased giving that is often overlooked. Check with your employer for details regarding their matching gift program.

Gifts in Kind
The Viking Athletic Fund accepts goods and services, such as, automobiles, food and beverage, office equipment, and athletic supplies. These gifts are used to reduce expenses. Subject to University approval and IRS regulations, the value of the gift is credited to your name or organization.

Planned and Estate Gifts
Other kinds of giving include trusts, life insurance, personal property and mortgages, gift annuities, pooled income funds and charitable remainder trusts. The Viking Athletic Fund will assist you in creating a giving program that supports Portland State Athletics, while providing valuable tax advantages and income benefits.
