WRESTLING, 1987-90
A member of two NCAA II National Championship teams (1989, 1990), Travis West was an individual National Champion at 142 pounds in 1989. Despite missing most of his senior season with a knee injury, West took second in the nation in 1990 and became a two-time All-American. West had 90 match wins in his Portland State career. He also held the distinction of being one of six Viking wrestlers ever to make an Olympic team (1992).
