Tony Champion was an integral part of Portland State’s back-to-back NCAA Division II national championship wrestling teams of 1989 and 1990. The aptly named Champion was a three-time NCAA Division II individual champion at 177 pounds and a four-time All-American. Champion ranks eighth all-time in career wins at Portland State with 92 and was selected the team’s Most Outstanding Wrestler three times. He earned his first national title as a freshman on the only team to go undefeated in NCAA tournament history.
