VOLLEYBALL COACH, 1969-83
Coach Marlene Piper was responsible for the development of the Portland State women’s volleyball program, including the recruitment of numerous All-American and Olympic Festival participants. In addition, she coached Softball, Women’s Track and Field, and was Associate Director of Athletics during her time at PSU.
As a volleyball coach he compiled a career record of 436-106 at Portland State. She had the team in the national playoffs every season, finishing second in 1981, third in 1982 and second again in 1983.
