WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, 1993-96
In Kristi Smith’s four seasons the Vikings went 98-22 and were consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation at the Division II level. Kristi set four school records and was a three-time All-Conference selection. She was an honorable mention All-American in 1993-94 and a first-team All-American selection the following two seasons. 

In 1995-96, Portland State was the only school in the country with two players represented on the ten-player All-America team, Smith and Kim Manifesto. The two are the only Viking women’s basketball players to have their numbers retired following their playing careers. Among Smith’s highlights were setting single-season (271) and career (814) rebounding marks. She also finished her career as the leader in field goals made (704) and field goal percentage (.560), while ranking second in all-time scoring (1,709 points).
