WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, 2006-09
Kelsey Kahle may simply have been the best women's basketball player in the history of the program. She finished her career as Portland State's all-time leading scorer with 2,049 points, and all-time leading rebounder with 879. Her career averages were 16.8 points and 7.2 rebounds. In all, she held 10 records when her career ended. Kahle started all 122 games of her career - most in school history. She was first in double-figure scoring games (100), 20-point games (43), 30-point games (7), field goals made and free throws made. Kahle ranked third all-time in steals and fourth in blocked shots. She set the Peter W. Stott Center record with 41 points against Sacramento State in 2007 and led PSU in points, scoring, rebounding, rebounding percentage, and field goal percentage all four years of her career. Kahle led the Vikings to four straight Big Sky Tournament appearances and its first Division I post-season appearance (WNIT in 2009). She was a third team Academic All-American (2009) and named Academic All-District three times. The Big Sky Freshman of the Year (2005-06), Kahle was a four-time All-Big Sky Conference selection and four-time Academic All-Big Sky. She was an 11-time Big Sky Player of the Week.
