BASEBALL, 1977-1979
A second baseman and pitcher, Dunn played three seasons at Portland State before signing a professional contract with the San Francisco Giants. Dunn finished his PSU career as the all-time hitting leader with a .385 batting average. In 1978, Dunn was 10-1 as a pitcher with a 2.10 ERA, completing nine of 11 starts and earned All-NorPac honors. He was 18-5 with a 2.53 ERA in three seasons on the mound. Dunn batted .363 and stole a school-record 26 bases in 1979, once again earning All-NorPac honors. He won his team's Outstanding Pitcher Award in 1978 and Gold Glove Award in 1979.
