WRESTLING, 1988-91
Dan Russell’s wrestling resume takes a backseat to no other. He was a four-time NCAA Division II National Champion (1988, 1889, 1990, 1991) twice leading the Vikings to National team titles (1989 and 1990). Russell also competed in the Division I National meet, twice placing fourth (1990, 1991) and earning Division I All-American honors. Russell was named the Most Valuable Wrestler at the Division II National Championship in 1990, earning the most falls. Russell holds the PSU record for career wins (133), most falls in a season (20) and a career (56). A four-time team Most Outstanding Wrestling, he was also an Academic All-American in 1991.
