SOFTBALL, 1987-1991
Cynthia Macom was a mainstay as a centerfielder and leadoff hitter for the Portland State softball team that reached the NCAA playoffs in her final two seasons and placed third in the nation in 1991. A two-time All-West Region selection, she was named second team All-American in 1991.
Though several of her records have since been broken, Macom left PSU as the school record holder in career hits (245), runs (133), at bats (678), and steals (68). She also held season records for hits (73) and steals (21). Macom batted .408 in 1989 and had a career average of .361. The Vikings were 126-72 during her career.
