MONMOUTH, Ore. — The Portland State track & field team's female competitors went 3-for-3 for seasonal bests at the John Knight Twilight meet Friday at McArthur Field.

Maya Jackson shaved seven-tenths of a second off her seasonal best in the 400 meters while finishing in 57.86 seconds Friday. Jackson ran her first 400-meter race of the season last week at the Al Manuel Northwest Dual Invite, where she finished in 58.56 seconds.

Meggie Karp and
McKenna Martin provided two seasonal bests in the women's 1,500 meters, as they finished in 4:52.35 and 4:58.97, respectively. Karp shaved close to seven seconds off her season-opening time in the 1,500 meters, which she set at 4:58.27 at the L&C Spring Break Open on March 17. Martin ran the 1,500 meters in 5:16.01 at the L&C meet, but beat that time by over 17 seconds, as well as her prep personal best of 5:05.

Erik Solano also beat his prep personal best in the 5,000 meters while leading a group of three Vikings with his finish in 16:04.87. Erik's twin brother
Andy Solano finished right behind him in 16:16.14, while
Andrew Stafford finished in 16:26.23.

The full Viking team returns to action next week at the Pelluer Invitational, April 13-14, in Cheney, Wash.Â
