Under Construction: Facelift Begins At Stott Center, Stott Field

As summer begins on the Park Blocks, construction is underway on the new Viking Pavilion, as well as a resurfacing of Stott Community Field.

Portland State Athletics will soon benefit from the upgrades to its facilities. The first will be the completion of the resurfacing of the Community Field by early July. Football and soccer are the main beneficiaries of that work as the field is their main practice facility. But virtually every PSU program uses the field at some point during the academic year. In addition, there are numerous PSU activity classes, community events and other rental activities that take place on Stott Field throughout the year.

The Peter W. Stott Center is undergoing significant construction already in the development of the new Viking Pavilion. Due to construction, the majority of athletics staffers previously located in Stott Center have moved their offices to the Athletics Office located in the University Center Building (SW 6th and Hall). Although work on the Viking Pavilion will continue until completion during the winter of 2018, the new athletics weight room is almost completed and should be opening later in June.

Due to limited access during construction not all areas were available for photography, including the weight room, but here are a few photos as of June 14:
