PORTLAND – Portland State women's basketball Head Coach Lynn Kennedy has signed two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2016-17 academic year.
 
Elizajane Loader (Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia/Barker College) and Caroline Tindal Wich (Aarhus, Denmark/Aarhus Academy) will join the Vikings for next season.
 
Loader, a 5-foot-8 point guard from Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia, has played at a very high level in Australia for the past few years. Her club team, the Spiders, won the U18 Metro League title in 2016 with Loader as the team captain. She was named the Spiders' Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and Player of the Year in 2014.
 
Loader also earned the prestigious New South Wales Combined Independent Schools Blue Bar Award in 2015 for her "continued exceptional sporting achievement" in basketball over multiple years.
 
"Elizajane gives us another tough, skilled point guard," Kennedy said. "She has the ability to lead a team from the point guard position as well as effectively score the ball. She will be coming to PSU with a wide range of high level international playing experience."
 
Tindal Wich, a 6-foot-2 power forward from Aarhus, Denmark, has tremendous experience at the national and international level playing for Denmark. She has played for her national team at the U15, U16, U18, and U20 levels. She averaged 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game at the 2014 U18 European Championships.
 
Tindal Wich was also invited to tryout for the Denmark Women's National team along with 30-35 other Danish players.
 
"Caroline gives us another option at our post position," Kennedy said. "She possesses all the skills that we look for in a post. Someone who can be a power, face-up, or transition post and she does all three extremely well. She has played in some intense international games and that experience will help in her transition to college basketball."
 
Loader and Tindal Wich join three other NLI signees from the fall. They include Jasmin Falls (Medford, OR/South Medford HS), Elle Pace (Montrose, CO/Montrose HS), and Tatiana Streun (Bellevue, WA/Bellevue HS) will all make their way to the Park Blocks in the Fall of 2016.
 
Portland State will have eight new faces on the court next year as they will also add three redshirts who sat out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA Transfer Rules.
 
"These signings along with our fall signings and our redshirt players give us, in my opinion, one of the best recruiting classes in PSU history," Kennedy said.
