The complete Stats FCS NCAA I Pre-Season All-American team

Portland State football long snapper Kameron Canaday was named a preseason All-American on Thursday by Stats Inc. Canaday, a senior from Eugene's Sheldon High School, has held the important role of long snapping on all kicks and punts for the Vikings since coming to PSU in 2012.

Canaday has started all 29 games he has been available in his Portland State career. The 6-4, 230-pound senior came to PSU ranked as the fourth-best long snapper in the nation out of high school. For the past two seasons, he has snapped to two-time first team All-American punter Kyle Loomis. He also played a role in kicker Jonathan Gonzales leading the Big Sky Conference in field goals made in 2014 (17-24) as well as being the only starting Big Sky kicker to be perfect on extra points (33-33).

Canaday is one of 15 players from the Big Sky Conference to earn preseason All-America honors. He is one of six named to the first team.

Wire service www.americanfootballnetworks.com released its preseason All-America teams in June. Gonzales was named second team All-American at kicker. Linebacker Jeremy Lutali, defensive lineman Junior Alexis, cornerback Xavier Coleman, offensive linemen Kyle Smith and Cam Keizur, and running back Steven Long were named honorable mention.
