PORTLAND - Portland State Volleyball Head Coach
Michael Seemann has announced the addition of
Pati Anae for the 2015 season. Anae played her freshman and sophomore seasons at the College of Southern Idaho and will join the Vikings this fall.

Anae, a 6-foot-0 junior outside hitter from from Laie, Hawaii, tallied 218 kills (2.06 kps), 313 digs (1.44 dps), and 161 total blocks (0.74 bps) over two years at Southern Idaho. She also hit .210 and tallied 38 service aces.

"We are very excited to have Pati join our program this fall," Seemann said. "Pati's leadership and maturity on and off the court will definitely benefit our young team."

Anae played in 38 matches, making 35 starts, during her sophomore year at Southern Idaho. She averaged 2.10 kills and 1.89 digs per set. She also tallied 104 total blocks. She posted 11 double-digit kill performances including a career-high 13 kills twice. She also recorded five double-digit dig performances and posted two double-doubles.

"Pati plays a powerful and well-rounded game, giving us stability and versatility in the backcourt," Seemann added. "She is a terminal blocker, a physical attacker, and can score from the end line, and we expect her to be effective on both pins."

Anae played basketball and volleyball at Kahuku High School and helped her basketball team to a fifth-place finish in the state tournament as a freshman before focusing on volleyball. Her volleyball team placed fifth at the state tournament in 2011 and third in 2012. Anae also played club volleyball for 'Imi 'Ike Volleyball Club.

Anae joins six other players who have committed to play for the Vikings this fall.
