PORTLAND – Portland State women's basketball coach
Sherri Murrell has announced the signing of Delanie Parry to a National Letter of Intent for the 2013-14 season.
"We're delighted to have Delanie join our team,” Murrell said. “She is a proven winner and she has all the makings of being a top player on our team and in the conference. She will fit in well with our up-tempo style of play. She is a true competitor."
Parry played for Head Coach Lindsey Strothers at Beaverton's Westview High School, helping lead the Wildcats to a fourth place finish at the OSAA 6A State Tournament. Parry matched her season high with 20 points in the fourth place game against Clackamas.
The 5-foot-6 guard was a first-team All-Metro League selection as a senior helping lead the Wildcats to a 22-5 overall record while going 10-1 in league play. She averaged 12.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.6 rebounds per game during her senior season.
Parry adds to the Vikings three other NLI signees: Lauren Holt (San Jose, Calif./Leigh HS), Jackie Lanz (Vancouver, Wash./St. Mary's Academy), and Yaremi Mejia (Medford, Ore./South Medford) all signed NLIs in November.
