Portland State Tennis To Host First Ever Conference Match at Peter W. Stott Center

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State men's and women's tennis will host its first ever conference match at the Peter W. Stott Center rooftop tennis courts on Wednesday, March 13, as North Dakota comes to town. Match times are slated for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.

Both squads were scheduled to play North Dakota at the same time on Sunday but due to inclement weather, North Dakota was unable to travel. The Viks normal home of Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Wash., is in use during Wednesday's makeup date so the conference and both teams agreed to have it played at the Stott.

PSU's women's squad comes into the match with a 6-7 record and a 1-3 Big Sky mark while the men are still searching for their first conference victory sitting with a 5-8 record having gone 0-3 in the Big Sky.

North Dakota's men's team enters the week with a 1-4 overall mark and is also looking for its first conference win. They play Eastern Washington today and will wrap up the road trip with Portland State tomorrow. The women's team has also seen its share of struggles entering the road trip with a 5-8 mark and a 0-3 record in Big Sky contests. Like the men they will also play Eastern Washington Tuesday.

Portland State women's tennis faces a busy week playing North Dakota tomorrow and then heading out for a three-match road trip starting with Southern Utah in Cedar City, Utah on Friday, Valparaiso at Northern Arizona's facilities (site to be determined due to weather) and finishing up with the Lumberjacks on Sunday.  PSU's men's team won't be back in action for a while, next facing Montana at Club Green Meadows on March 29.
