PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State men and women's cross country teams will head south to Eugene, Ore. to take part in the sixth annual Bill Dellinger Invitational this Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Springfield Country Club. The women's 5,000-meter run will start at 10:30 a.m. PT with the men's 8,000 set to start at 11:15 a.m.
The Vikings last hit the trails at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Sophomore
Zach Carpenter was the top-finisher for the Vikings with a time of 25:25 to finish 61st overall in the 8,000-meter race.
William Ferguson and
Cary Dunagan finished with times of 26:23 and 26:27 respectively.
Amber Rozcicha recorded the top-time on the women's side for the Vikings with a time of 22:20 to finish 43th overall. The men finished 24th overall as a team while the women finished 28th.
Carpenter is the top returning runner from last year's Dellinger Invitational. He finished 49th with a time of 25:36.95. Rozcicha ran a time of 21:59.26 in last year's women's race.
