PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland State men and women's cross country team hits the trail again Saturday at the adidas/Cross Country Classic at Fernhill Park in Portland. The men's 8,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. followed by the women's 5,000 at 10:30 a.m.
The Vikings last hit the trails at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Ore.
Zach Carpenter led the way for the Vikings in the men's race with a time of 24:58.15 in the men's 8,000 to finish 46th overall.
Cary Dunagan and
William Ferguson finished with times of 26:23.22 and 26:31.01 respectively.
Amber Rozcicha paced the Vikings in the women's 5,000 with a time of 17:53.78 to finish 44th overall.
Brandy Castillo and
Brittany Castillo finished with times of 18:59.79 and 19:15.12 respectively.
Following the adidas/Cross Country Classic this weekend, the Vikings will to the Beaver Classic next Saturday in Corvallis, Ore.
Directions to Fernhill Park (at NE 42nd Ave and Ainsworth)
From I-5 North or South take the Lombard St. (Hwy 30 by-pass) East to the 42nd Ave exit. Take 42nd Ave South and you will see the track and park on your right.
From I-205, take the Killingsworth exit West (this becomes Lombard St.) and go to the 42nd Ave exit. Take 42nd Ave South and you will see the track and park on your right
Parking – There will be a lot on the corner of 42nd Ave and Killingsworth as well as a lot at St. Charles Catholic Church, which is on the opposite corner of the same intersection. Workers may direct you to park at these lots in addition to neighborhood parking. Please be considerate of our park neighbors and only park in legal and designated areas.
